A most attractive and interesting three-colour franking of outmost rarity as letters of the third exceptional collection 'levée exceptionelle' are nearly unknown, especially if sent to the Levant. For each 15 min after the final date of collection a fee of 20 c. had to be paid in addition to the normal postage, in this case three times 20 c. plus the normal 1862 Levant rate of 50 c., in total 110 c.

An appaeling entire with this gathering of retouches, correctly franked in the July 1871 rate.

    1873/74: Registered court wrapper from Bergerac to Beaumont, bearing a mixed type strip of Cérès 1873 25 c. blue type II, one example together with two examples of 1874 25 c. blue type III at right, a fine and fresh multiple, tied by light Gros Chiffres '447' numeral lozenge and framed R in red. Despatch cds (Nov 21, 74) alongside. The addressee could not be found in Beaumont-du-Périgord, a "RETOUR A L'ENVOYEUR / 385" handstamp was struck on obverse, the reverse shows information strikes of Beaumont (Nov. 22) and Bergerac from the same day upon return.
