    1870: Entire letter from Bayonne to Genova, bearing Bordeaux 20 c. blue type I report 1, two fresh and fine adhesives with good to large margins, each tied by "P.B. 2°" railway line lozenge, "GARE DE BAYONNE (64) 20 DEC 70" convoyeur station despatch cds alongside. Reverse with wavy "BAYONNE BAY. P." convoyeur lignes datestamp, French and Italian ambulant and GENOVA arrival cds (Dec 23). Minor cover wear, a rare and appealing usage to pay the 40 centimes Italy rate. Signed Calves Yvert = € 1'925 / Maury 44/I = € 2'075.
