    1934: Japanese occupation of Manchuria, Emperor's palace 6 f. green (vertical strip of three) and Phoenix 10 f. blue (vertical pair), cancelled by three strikes of a black cds with Chinese characters, on registered envelope from Harbin (dispatch 22.6.) addressed via Russia to Lausanne (transit 4.7.) in Switzerland where it has been re-addressed to Bregenz in Austria (arrival 6.7.), an interesting piece of postal history from this Japanese puppet state.

    1851 (Feb 5): Entire letter to Jacobstad/Finland struck with British P.O. "RIO-JANEIRO" in black on reverse, carried via London (14/3) where struck with framed "Colonies / & Art. 13" in red, thence via Calais and Berlin. A fine entire to an extraordinary destination.

    1866: Dom Pedro 10 r. vermilion, 20 r. red lilac in a horizontal pair and single 50 r. blue all tied to reverse of 1869 entire letter to Figueira, Portugal by dotted black handstamps. Endorsed "per Gironde, via Havre" on front and struck with rare usage of framed Convention marking "F-46" in black (Van der Linden fig. 1182). Charged due on receipt with handstruck '25' (reis) to pay in black (Jan 15, 1870). Minor faults to adhesives presumably on opening of letter, but a rare and most unusual three colour franking of delightful visual appeal.

    1866: Dom Pedro 20 r. red-lilac in a horizontal pair used on 1875 printed Prices Current to Trieste, underpaid and struck with oval "Insuficiente" in red. Reverse with Verviers / Coeln TPO, Vienna cds and Triest arrival (24/1). Charged 46 kreuzers due in blue crayon manuscript on arrrival. An unusual and attractive entire that opens well for Exhibit display.
