    1849 (Jan 14): Stampless cover to Salzburg/Austria struck with red framed "KIRKEE" despatch with manuscript date and charge (9 annas), framed "INDIA PAID" in red and thence via "Overland Mail"  with two line dated Austrian P.O. "ALEXANDRIEN / FEB 9" in black on front and reverse with Salzburg arrival. Rated at 9 annas + 18 kr. for Lloyd + 12 kr for journey from Triest to Salzburg, with 30 kr. due. Scarce destination for Indian Mail at this date.
