    1856 (Aug 12): Cover to the Tyrol franked by imperforate 1851/57  Franklin 1 c. blue and vertical pair of Washington 10 c. green boldly tied by "Saint Clair / Pa." datestamp in black, red "New York / Am. Pkt." transit (Aug 16) alongside and straight line "U. S. PKT." in black on front; reverse with London transit cds (Aug 28), red "Brief Per England And Aachen" transit (Aug 29) and Innsbruck arrival cds (1/9). A scarce cover.

Framed "Aachen Franco" on front in red and straight line "Via Di Svizzera" in red. Reverse with New York datestamp and Genova arrival cds. Despite fault a scarce cover.

    1857/61: Washington 12 c. black, single and horizontal strip of four on cover from New Orleans to Vienna/Austria all tied by New Orleans cds's in black; adhesives with some trimmed perforations, struck with "N.YORK-14-BR.PKT.PAID" (Sept 1) in red on front alongside "AACHEN FRANCO" framed in red (14/9). Reverse with Vienna arrival. Despite the minor imperfections, a very rare 60 cent franking.

    1861/66: Black Jack 2 c. used on 1863 Printed Matter entire letter to Intra, Italy tied by circular target handstamp in black with "New Orleans" cds at right (Aug 26) of despatch. Red "Etats Unis / Serv. Am. Calais" entry mark (Sept 18) on front and Intra arrival cds (20/9) on reverse. Adhesive with file fold not detracting from appearance, a scarce usage.
