    1866: The beautifully written up collection of the first issue with complete set of Pellas Proofs imperforate, issued stamps arranged to show all the different matrix types à la Byam, with 5 pa. grey mint (20), 10 pa. brown (20), 20 pa. blue mint (21, one is imperforate on wmk'd paper and include rare positional stamps pos. 22 (Nile Post D3a) and pos. 180; rare 5 pi. rose with all ten types shown mint and an imperforate example, rare 10 pi. slate with all (9) types shown. Plate and perforation flaws abound, a spectacular collection in much above average condition.

    1866: First Issue covers (8) with 1 pi. claret single frankings (4) used from Alessandria, Cairo (cancelled in blue), Damiata and Tanta; 20 pa. blue pair on cover to Orebich/Austria and defective entire with rare franking of single 10 pa. brown locally used in Alexandria. A few imperfections but a scarce selection.

    1867: 1 pi. red, used on 1870 cover from Cairo addressed to 'Rousseau, Agent d'affaires in Suez', tied by Cairo datestamp (April 25) with reverse showing Benha and Suez datestamps; also an 1872 cover to Ismailia franked by 1872 1 pi. red (signed Sorani) and an 1876 entire letter to France franked by 1874 20 pa. grey and 1 pi. red used from Port Said to Dijon. A generally fine group.

Framed "Raccomandato" at top and docketing of registration at upper left (also weight: 6½ grams). Flap missing on reverse but complete Cairo arrival cds. Scarce and early registered cover.
