    1856 (Aug 22): Entire letter from Calcutta to Genoa/Italy franked by 1856 4 a. grey-black on white paper pair (early usage), some perfs trimmed not affecting appearance, endorsed "From Alexandria to Europe by Austrian Steamer" with framed "INDIA / PAID" and various manuscript rates (9/9 charge in kreuzers for land and sea rate). A fresh and attractive entire.

Crescent "India Paid" alongside and London arrival cds (Sept 20) in red at left. Some natural ageing but a fine entire.

    1911 (Feb. 18): First Aerial Post Allahabad-Naini by Henry Pequet, 1 a. on 2a. 6 p. stationery envelope (slightly toned) tied by special purple cachet to Birmingham/England, backstamped "Allahbad 18 FE.11" plus "Bombay 20 FE 11" transit cds's on reverse, small card 'First Aerial Post with compliments Maj. E. Kaye 15.2.11" included Muller 1.

Otto Koennecke flight Etawah - Calcutta wtih his biplane 'Germania', envelope franked with 1 a. brown tied by Calcutta cds and bearing on front special salmon label, signed by Koennecke and his Engineer J. Hermann, on reverse small label with imprint '"Flugpost" Etawah Calcutta' cancelled on delivery "Park Street Calcutta 13. Feb. 28 7-AM". A scarce cover only 24 items known.
