    1853 (Oct 28): Entire letter from Catania (Sicily) to Cairo, struck on reverse with "Malta" double ring cds of transit (Nov 7) and oval "PD" in black, with French P.O. "Alexandrie / Egypte" cds (Nov 12) and then placed into Posta Europea with fine strike of "Direzione Della Posta Europea / Alessandria D'Egitto" (Type II) in black. A rare entire believed to be the sole "three country" example known.

Scarce and attractive cover.
