    1862 (Sept 13): Cover from London to Moscow endorsed "Via Ostend" franked by 1 d. red stars (2), 1862/64 9 d. deep bistre (blunted perfs but of extraordinarily rich colour) and 1856/57 1 sh. green all tied by London-71 duplexes in black. Red "Aus England Per Aachen-Franco" on front and Moscow arrival on reverse. A few minor imperfections but an attractive and unusual 1/11 d. rate cover.

    1867/80: 6 d. mauve pl. 9 and 1 s. green pl. 4, used on 1870 entire letter from London "via Marseilles" to Yokohama/Japan, adhesives tied by London duplexes. Fine "HONG KONG" transit (Aug 23) in black and British P.O. "YOKOHAMA" arrival datestamp (Aug 30) in blue on reverse. Slight ageing at top of cover but an attractive and scarce usage to an unusual destination, that opens well for Exhibit display.

    1867/83: 5 s. rose, Plate 1 wmk Maltese Cross, two used examples cancelled by "C38" (Callao, Peru) and "C51" (St. Thomas, Danish West Indies) obliterators in black and a creased example from Plate 2 cancelled by "C30" (Valparaiso, Chile) obliterator. Imperfections but a scarce group Gi = £ 2'400.
