    1822 (Aug 22/29): 'Republica de Colombia' printed letter from Guayaquil to Quito, addressed to General Jose Antonio Sucre, endorsed 'Servicio' and struck on front panel with GUAYAQUIL / DEVE in red. Letter written by a secretary, clearly signed at base by the liberator Juan Jose Flores, later to become the first President of Ecuador.
