    1865: ½ r. ultramarine, single example used on 1866 legal cover front and part back to Guaranda, in combination with single 1 r. green and horizontal strip of nine, generally large margins all round, cancelled by six strikes of RIOBAMBA datestamps in black. Clearly dated on reverse in manuscript and annotated '21 oz.' at upper right for 10½ reales rate. An exceptional and rare franking. Cert. Moorhouse (2014).
