    ½ r. deep ultramarine on surface blued paper, close to large margined example used with fine 1865 1 r. yellow, coarse impression on white paper, used on 1873 cover to Latacunga tied by PILLARO / FRANCA datestamps (June 27, month inverted) struck in red. Corresponding weight annotation at upper left '2¼ oz.', rate rounded up to 1½ reales. A fine and scarce late usage of the first issue.
