    1866: 4 r. carmine red, a superb horizontal streip of three used in combination with 1865/67 ½ r. grey blue and horizontal pair of 1 r. yellow on 1870 legal cover to Ambato, all tied by five strikes of QUITO / FRANCA datestamp (Dec 14) in black. A splendid and extremely rare cover  with an extremely rare multiple of the 4 reales. Exhibition item. Cert. Moorhouse (2014).
