    1865: 1 r. yellow, an irregular block of ten and 1 r. orange shade in a block of six used with single 1871 ½ r. blue on blued paper on 1873 legal cover to Ambato, tied by ten strikes of the dotted lozenge struck in red with RIOBAMBA / FRANCA datestamp at right (Jan 25).  Manuscript weight '32¾ oz.' at upper right and thus correctly franked at 16½ reales. A few minor imperfections including a filing crease but generally a fresh and very fine cover with an extraordinary franking. Cert. Moorhouse (2014).
