The cover re-addressed on arrival to Rome, Italy (a rare destination for Ceylon mail of this period) via Marseilles (July 5), with 'Roma / Via di Mare' arrival on reverse (July 8). Again re-addressed to Watford with both London and Watford datestamp (July 24). The cover with faults and part wax seal at left where Italian Due label would have been applied, charged 1 s. 4 d. due upon eventual receipt. Cert. RPSL (2016).

A magnificent and extremely rare stamp, without doubt the finest known, for the connoisseur of Cyprus philately Gi = £ 45'000.rnrnNote: "The stamps were printed in sheets of 480 (24 x 20), the overprint was made from a plate of 120 subjects therefore there were four applications of the overprint. On one sheet, issued at Limassol, the initial operation was out of alignment and this resulted in one vertical row having the overprint partially double and several vertical rows showing the overprint misplaced to varying degrees" from M.A. Warwick in W.T.F.
