    1861/64: 1 s. slate-violet, perf. 15½, perfs. somewhat mis-aligned to right, used on 1865 cover endorsed 'via Marseilles' from Galle to Boston, USA tied by barred obliterator in black with 'Galle / Paid' cds in red alongside. 'London / Paid' transit cds (Aug 28) and thence to Boston by American Packet (Sept 10) with '32 / Cents' credit marking (to GB) in red.
