    1867/70: 6 d. blackish-brown, single example used on 1870 cover from Colombo to Calcutta endorsed 'per French Str. or first Packet from Galle', paying the short-lived 6 d. rate to India (British Packet cost 1d. less), the adhesive tied by Colombo duplex (April 13) in black. Reverse with STEAMER LETTER / CALCUTTA arrival (April 20) in red. Flap tear and closed opening tear in front panel but an attractive cover.
