    1887/96: 40 pa. on GB 1887 2½ d. purple on blued, a used example, variety: "40 in Surcharge Largely Omitted", lightly cancelled leaving this extraordinary variety clear, one must presume that a small piece of paper got trapped on the surcharging plate. Rare and most appealing flaw. Cert. BPA (2000).
