Acapulco 1868: 12 c. black on green perforated (25-1868), a fine horizontal pair used on 1869 combination cover to Oaxaca endorsed "via Acapulco" and large part back from San Francisco bearing 1867/68 10 c. green with grill (Scott 96) tied in black, with 12 c. pair tied in transit by small oval "FRANCO / EN / ACAPULCO" handstamp in black (Schatzkes fig. 4). SAN FRANCISCO / CAL / PAID" cds in red at left (Jan 30). Manuscript notation of the Forwarding Agent at left "Care J.L. Sutter Esq., Acapulco". Colonial 1650 (Nov. 30): Entire letter from the Viceroy of Peru, Garcia Sarmientode Sotomayor, Count of Salvatierra (1648-1655) to the "Jueces oficiales of Hacienda" (Treasury Officers) of Huancavelica, manuscript endorsement "Virrey" (Viceroy) on front at lower lower left, content expressing responsibility of the Treasury Officers for the mercury mines and that the person in charge of making the vessels to contain the metal destined to Potosi in order to obtain silver should be replaced.
