    1932/34c.: "Emanuel Mangalo" proposed but unissued Essays, the set of 18 values celebrating both Mangalo's birth centenary (an acclaimed National hero for his part in the Battle of Rivas against William Walker) and the 50th UPU anniversary (1932), with imperforate values from ½ c. to 15 c. in a variety of colours on buff wove paper. Scarce. Ex the Brian Moorhouse estate.
