    1864 (May 16): Enttire letter from Campeche (fell to the French / Maximilian forces in January 1864) to New York with sender's cachet and framed private "CAMPECHE / 17 MAYO 1864" cachet at upper right, both in blue, forwarded in Havana with oval "SANTOS VILLAVERDE / HABANA" cachet in green alongside, struck with "STEAMSHIP / 10" upon arrival. Scarce from this District and an unusual entire. Ex the Brian Moorhouse estate.
