Gibbs states "one unused pair recorded to date" however there was another pair offered (without certificate) in the "Tatiana" sale (lot 81025) to which Holcombe refers to in his certificate when stating "A very rare pair of which only two are known". The "Tatiana" pair was soiled and had a heavy corner crease and was torn at top, in this describer's opinion this famous multiple is by far the finer of the two examples known.
