Deraedemaeker was a Belgium lithographer who created reproductions of several Penny Postage envelopes among others in the 1890s. It appears that he has worked closely with Jean-Baptiste Moens (1833-1908). Several Deaedemaeker reproductions were personally addresses by Moens shortly before his retirement in 1900 including this one. The address in Moens' handwriting gives as the addressee "Monsieur A. Preston Pearce". Albert Preston Pearce (1873-1957) was a bank manager in Plymouth, he specialised in Revenues and researched stamped papers used in France 1673-1791. From 1897 he was a regular contributor to 'Stamps' on revenue topics, in 1900 he became Editor of 'Morley's Philatelic Journal'.
