    1840: 1 d. intense black, Plate 1a, lettered TL (basal shift), a used example of magnificent appearance from lower right corner of the sheet, imperceptibly touched at top with large sheet margins on two sides with part of inscription, tied to 1840 cover by bold strike of the Maltese Cross in red with circular datestamp at top (24 May 1840) - the third Sunday date.
