    60 reis black, Late Early Impression, a fine large margined example used on cover from Campinas to Uruguayana, Rio Grande Do Sul, boldly tied by extremely scarce CORREIO DE CAMPINAS circular handstamp in bright red-brown (Ayres 1565). File fold well away from the adhesive and some splitting as usual but of great rarity and most attractive. Cert. Moorhouse (1987).

    2½ c. ochre-yellow, the famous irregular mint block of 19 stamps from the left side of the sheet, positions 1-4/12-15/23-25/34-37/45-48, with large margins all round and position 26 excised, position 25 with some rubbing of the colour otherwise an immaculate and rare multiple-the second largest known block-twinned on album page with a vertical block of eight seemingly from the same sheet and shade, marginal from base of sheet being positions 16-17/27-28/38-39/49-50. Usual minor bends of no importance, a tremendous pair of multiples showing nearly half of the complete sheet.

    50 c. green on bluish wove paper, the remarkable vertical strip of seven stamps, all Type I, marginal from left of sheet, stamp at lower left corner turned sideways, of excellent colour and appearance, some thinning not apparent on face and insignificant scissor cut between sixth and seventh stamps and usual creasing on a multiple this size, but extremely rare positional piece with large part original gum.

Colombia 1920 3 c. green alongside tied in blue, reverse with Panama (Nov 4) arrival in violet and Bogotá datestamp of return (Nov 24) in red. Some minor faults and creasing but a very rare cover.

Reverse with Barranquilla arrival datestamp, again in violet. Tiny inclusion at base of cover, otherwise exceptional and rare commercial usage, the 10 c. green being used on First Day of Issue.

    4 reales red, a fine example from position 1 on the sheet with marginal frameline at left, used on refolded cover front to Ambato endorsed "13½ oz." and additionally franked by 1870/72 1 real ochre yellow (3 examples, the first being posititon 4 with doubled frame line at base), all cancelled by "Guaranda" datestamps (July 9, 1868). Guaranda continued to use the '68' datestamp for many years and the cover was probably mailed in 1871. A scarce and interesting item.

    1791 (Aug 5): Entire letter from Honda to Popayan, distance 147 leagues / 819 kms., with superb strike of the extremely rare contracted HONDA handstamp (Tizon 1 = EXT) and, below, DEVE (Tizon 3 = EXT) both in red. Unusually docketed as received on the 30th of the month (a journey time of 25 days). Rated "3" reales in manuscript for a double letter up to ¾ ounce. A marvellous and extremely rare entire. Unique.

The letter contained 5 sheets of papel sellado. Rare and splendid piece.

Manuscript notation "12 oz." at left and thus correctly rated. Of excellent appearance and a very rare multiple on letter.

An outstanding strike of this marking, the cover dated from the original content retained by the former owner, and unique.
