1850 (June 18): Entire letter written in Ferrara, Papal States, despatched at the the post office in Santa Maria Maddalena, Venezia and directed to Trieste, bearing Carta a mano 45 c. sky blue type I from the first print run, a fresh and fine adhesive with good to large margins all round, tied by rare three line "S. M. / Maddalena 18 GIUo" datestamp (Sassone RO = 8 punti), reverse with arrival datestamp (June 20). A most interesting entire writen in the Papal States which have not been part of the Austrian - Italian Postal Treaty prior to November 1852. Therefore the letter was posted in S. M. Maddalena on the northern side of the river Po in Venezia and franked correctly with 45 centesimi for the third rayon. Also a very early usage in the first month after issuing. Sassone = € 650 + 675 + 1'200.
