Note: On the flight from Dakar to Natale (Brazil) the Italian plane had troubles and approaching the coast attempted to land on a beach at Ceara near Fortaleza. It struck a large rock and over-turned. The mechanic and radio officer were both injured. 1852: 10 c. rose carmine, a delightful large margined strip of three used on 1858 cover to Uetersen, Denmark via Hamburg, all cancelled by Amsterdam half -round datestamps (Aug 5) in black. Straight line "ontoereikend" (Insufficient) finely struck at top as from January 1858 all covers from Netherlands to Denmark had to be fully paid to destination. Thus the adhesives were disregarded as payment and the cover was taxed with manuscript '5' in blue ink (2 sgr. Dutch and 3 sgr. German share), rounded up to '7' schillinge = 22 skilling. A further 4 sk was added (note '26' in red crayon) for the Rayon 1 charge from Hamburg Danish P.O. (datestamp on reverse) to destination. Manuscript 'Wf. 2' in blue ink (German share of 2 sgr.) and below this '4' in blue crayon (silvergroschen-credited forward to cover German and Danish shares). 1633 (Nov 12): Entire letter showing the great circular seal (85mm. diameter) of King Wladislaw IV of Poland, a superb embossed example displaying well on letter written to "Dna. Isabella Clara Eugenia, Infanta Hispaniarum Austria, Duce Burgundia Brabantia Luxemburgi Geloria Comiti Tyrolis..." with full date and signature of "Wladislaus Rex" at base. Isabella died on December 1, 1633 in Brussels just three weeks after this letter was written and it is possible that the letter remained unread.
