Russian mail during War of Liberation 1877 (Oct 8): Russia Imperial Arms 8 kop. grey & carmine, tied by 'Pochtovij Vagon No. 25-26 (4) 21 8 Okt 1877' cds to letter card, written in in Tencho, Gorna Studena district, identical T.P.O. strike alongside, sent to Warsaw with arrival cds of the same day. Handwritten 'From the Southern Army on Active Service' and endorsed 'To Russia' on front. This cover was obviously intended to be send by Fieldpost but then taken privately to Russia and posted at T.P.O. No. 21 of the Granitsa - Sosnovitsi Railway line. Cover illustrated in Postrider No. 51 (2002).

1855 (March 17): Printed Prices Current franked with "Kumpf & Eckstein's Newpaper Statement 1 Penny" handstamp in red, and sent directly to Copenhagen fully paid for British rate, franked by Denmark Thiele printing 1852 2 rbs. blue, Plate 1, Type 2 with variety "foot of 2 nearly broken", with three large margins and shaved at top, tied by Copenhagen numeral "1" in black. Oval Footpost datestamp in blue-green alongside (March 26). An extraordinary entire-the sole recorrded mixed franking with a 2 rbs. adhesive. Certificate Moller (2006) and BPA (2007).

1856: Large Pearls 5 kop. blue on wide-laid-paper, a fine used example of this rarity (just 12 collectable examples are thought to exist), with margins close to large all round, cancelled by low-boxed "Raumo" datestamp (2 Nov. 1859) in black. Slight fading at top of the oval and on the Arms in the centre otherwise in exceptional quality for this rare stamp. Illustrated in 'Ovalmarken' by Linder. Cert.
