PETERSBOVRG" despatch handstamp (42 x 2.5 mm.) in black (Dobin 0.01a) - the first year of usage of this rare cancellation. Curved "MASEYCK" transit in black and charged on arrival (Nov 18) at 36 décimes due to pay; the letter docketed as replied on 11 January 1766. A remarkable entire showing the first postmark of Russia - one of the great rarities of classic Russian Postal History. Cert. Reverse with BATUM-ODESSA despatch cds of the following day and ST. PETERSBURG arrival cds in pink and distribution cds of the 7th city P.O. (Sept 27).
