1862: 5 c. green, 1867 laureated 80 c. carmine and 1870 Bordeaux 10 c. bistre, small imperfections, all used on 1872 cover from Valencia to Bordeaux endorsed under the adhesives "voie d'Angleterre", tied by Anchor lozenges in black. However, carried on French Packet "Nouveau Monde" from La Guayra with octagonal "VENEZUELA / PAQ. FR. A No. 3" in black (Oct 11). Underpaid 5 centimes for the 1 fr. 20 c. rate and struck with framed AFFRANCHISEMENT / INSUFFISANT in black. Charged '25 c.' handstruck due upon arrival. 1863/64: Eagle 2 r. green, an unusually superb large margined example, used on 1865 cover from La Guaira to Bordeaux, endorsed "p. Creole" (a non Contract Steamer, 'bâtiments de commerce') tied by fine "CORREOS / LA GUAIRA" handstamp in blue. Struck below adhesive with circular entry marking "OUTRE-MER / PAUILLAC" in red (May 10) and manuscript '12' décimes to pay. Bordeaux arrival cds on reverse. 1875: Contrasena ½ r. rose, an attractive example with large to just shaved margins all round, used on 1876 cover from Caracas to Paris endorsed "voie St. Nazaire", tied by oval CORREOS / CARACAS / DE VENEZUELA" handstamp in black. Octagonal "LA GUAYRA" Consular datestamp (Jan 5, 1876) in black below (Salles fig. 1374). Reverse with octagonal "VENEZUELA / PAQ. FR. A No.2" datestamp (Salles fig. 1420) and carried on the "Ville de Bordeaux". Struck with triangular 'T' marking and charged '12' décimes due on arrival - the tariff introduced on 1 January 1876. Carried on French Packet "Lafayette" with octagonal "VENEZUELA / PAQ. FRA. A No. 2" in red (Salles fig. 1420). La Guaira 1864: Lithographed by Waterlow 2 r. green, perf. 13, two examples (one marginal from top of sheet), used on 1865 cover and crossed by file fold, from La Guayra to Paris, tied by "CORREOS / LA GUAIRA" despatch in black. Mailed from St. Thomas on the RMSP "Tasmanian" with London transit cds on reverse (Jan 14) and struck there with "GB / 1F 60 c." accountancy marking in black. Calais transit cds and charged with handstruck '16' décimes in black for double rate.
