    1876/77: Contrasena ½ r. bright rose, a used example with ample to large margins all round and showing portion of adjoining stamp at left, on 1877 entire letter from La Guaira to Bordeaux tied by "CORREOS / LA GUAIRA" handstamp in black. Carried on French Packet "Lafayette" with octagonal "VENEZUELA / PAQ. FRA. A No. 2" in red (Salles fig. 1420). Struck with triangular "T" marking on arrival (March 28) and charged at double rate with handstruck "24" décime due mark in black. Rare and fine. Opinion Holcombe (1990). Cert.
