    Jassy 1827 (June 29): Entire letter from Jassy to Bologna, Papal States via Czernowitz and Vienna. The cover was disinfected at Bojana on the Austrian border and struck with framed (and very rare) MOLDAU in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 750) and by straight line 'Turquie' at Czernowitz. Two line ALTA / GERMANIA NORD below applied on arrival in Bologna (July 16) and rated there at 27 bajocchi to pay. Unusual and charming entire.

Re-addressed from the 18th Regiment of the line at St. Miklos to Kronstadt and charged 9 kreuzer Military rate in crayon even though marked as Official. Most unusual and appealing item.
    Note: During the Crimean campaign Field Post Office No. 4 moved to various sites including Braila, Jassy and Bistritsa.

The cover was mailed via Alt-Orsova where is was disinfected by punching and fumigation and Pesth (May 30) with arrival (June 4) on reverse. Interesting contents from the soldier bound for Pesth from Tekutsch and awaiting a Danube steamer: 'I am scared I may see a Turkish face at the window at any moment..'. Rare entire.

PITESCHTI datestamp (Tchilinghirian fig, 765) in black, straight line FRANCO and RECOM. struck twice alongside (unlisted). Disinfected at Hermannstadt with blade pinches, with Paris arrival (July 12) in red on reverse. Total charges on the reverse in manuscript of 47 kreuzer and charged 49 décimes in Paris. A magnificent cover-Tchilinghirian states: 'stampless covers, not seen, but may exist'.
