    1856 (May 25): Entire letter from a soldier in the Baron Bianchi Regiment at Galatz to his father in Bellano, Lombardy struck with K.K. ÖST. F. POST / GALATZ Field Post Office datestamp (Tchilinghirian fig. 742) in black. The cover was mailed via Alt-Orsova where is was disinfected by punching and fumigation and Pesth (May 30) with arrival (June 4) on reverse. Interesting contents from the soldier bound for Pesth from Tekutsch and awaiting a Danube steamer: 'I am scared I may see a Turkish face at the window at any moment..'. Rare entire.
