Illustrated in Emsing, an exceptional and a key item of Peruvian Postal History.rnNote: Chanta is a farmhouse and ranch located in the valley of Chanta to the Maranon, Huagayoc District, has 268 inhabitants. This postmark, according to Georges Lamy, was initially found on a letter dated December 19, 1866 mailed to Trujillo. As Chanta obviously had no Post Office, this was either a private production by the sender or applied in Huagayoc or Trujillo.
