    1870/71: 'Trencito' 5 c. pale red, a used example used on 8 October 1870 local letter mailed within Lima (and very rare thus) cancelled by two strikes of the scrolled LIMA / SEXTA / DISTRIBUC.N handstamp (Lamy & Rinck fig. 53) in black. Lima datestamp on reverse (Oct 14) - which is probably why the adhesive was used within Lima, as the writer had presumably forgotten to mail or deliver the item written some days beforehand. A rare and fine early usage. Opinion Holcombe (1997).
