    Netherlands. "Phonopost" 1950: On the proposal of the Argentine Republic a new method of postage was introduced - a small record disc, the same size as a modern CD or DVD, could be mailed through the post in a printed envelope, the message having been recorded on the disc. A fine used example from Rotterdam to Canada with envelope (franked at 32 c.), disc and a packet with the needles to play the disc still intact. The service was abolished in 1971 but Egypt used "Cassette" envelopes in a similar manner in the late 1980's. Remarkable item, the first Corinphila has offered.
