The pair with huge margins on all sides cancelled by 'Admon. Pral De Correos / Tacna' circular datestamp (18 June 1858) in black. Upper stamp with minor thin but a remarkable and extremely rare pair: the Percy Bargholtz census, this being fig. Cb2, records just five pairs, two of which are in the Tapling collection in the British Museum, the other two being sold by Corinphila in the Klaus Eitner collection in 2009. Some vertical creases and thins not apparent on face and of negligible importance on such a rare multiple. Other than a vertical block of ten, this is the largest multiple of the ½ peso and of impeccable philatelic provenance. A major rarity of both Peruvian and South American philately. Cert.
