1858 (Oct 3): 27 pa. black on pale rose, horizontally laid paper, circular frame line clear all round, a cut round example of exceptional freshness used on cover to Jassy tied by "BAKEU" blue double circle cds (Oct 3). Manuscript red crayon cross on front denotes full pre-payment to destination. Jassy arrival cds in red (Oct 5) on reverse. The cachet BAKEU is exceptionally clearly struck, a minor imperfection in the envelope well clear of the adhesive is of no relevance to this exceptional and very attractive piece. Heimbüchler records only seven single frankings of the 27 pa. used in Bakeu, of which this is the finest known example. Signed Todd AIEP.
