    1840 (Aug 17): 1 d. intense black, plate 6, lettered SI, generous margins all round, a used example as additional franking on 1 d. Mulready envelope, Stereo A162, from Loughborough to London; neatly tied by red Maltese Cross. London arrival on reverse. The envelope shows traces of repair, nonetheless attractive and very rare.
