    1808 (Feb 28): Colonial cover from Trujillo, Peru to Madrid, Spain endorsed "Por Buenos Ayres" and fully dated at top on despatch in manuscript and weight notification "1 oz, 6 grams"; struck with fine "TRUXILLO" (Guinovart & Tizón 1 = RR) and "PERU" straight line despatch in red. The cover would have kept to the Pacific coastline, thence round the Magellan Straits to Buenos Ayres and North across the Atlantic. Rated '4' silver reales due in manuscript upon receipt. A most attractive and rare cover.

    1819 (Oct 20): Colonial entire letter from Lima to Valencia, Spain, endorsed "Por Caratxa" (Cartagena, Colombia), struck on despatch with superb "PERU" in red. Carried on the Quito-Santa Fé-Cartagena route and thence by ship to Havana and Cadiz. Charged due upon arrival with large "8Rs." handstamp in red. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 179. A fine and rare entire: the routing discontinued upon Independence in the following year.

    PSNC & RMSP 1858: Entire letter from Lima to Paris endorsed "via di Panama e Inglaterra", franked by March 1858 1 d. blue, huge margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at left, tied by dotted oval LIMA despatch in  blue. Reverse with CALLAO double arc cds (March 12). Carried on PSNC Steamer to Panama and thence by RMSP "Thames" to St. Thomas and per "Magdalena" to Southampton. Struck in London (April 19) with "GB / 2F 87½c." accountancy marking and thence via Calais to Paris where charged '12' décimes due. The earliest recorded usage of the Peru First Issue and thus the earliest recorded usage of the issue carried overseas. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 215. Lima despatch cds (Sept 11) at right and reverse with CALLAO cds of British P.O. (Sept 12). Carried by PSNC Steamer to Panama and thence on RMSP "Parana" to Southampton. London cds on reverse (Oct 18) in red and via France to Bilbao (Oct 21). Manuscript '2' (pence) on front is the French credit. A remarkable and most unusual prepaid entire.

Carried on PSNC Steamer to Panama, thence via RMSP "Tyne" to St. Thomas and per the "Shannon" to Southampton. London cds in red on reverse (Dec 21) and struck with "GB / 2F 87½c." accountancy marking and thence via Calais to Paris. Charged an enormous "7 fr. 20 c." due on arrival (a six times rate). Some wrinkles due to weight of contents and aging but a very scarce cover. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 216.

Reverse with British P.O. "Callao" cds (Jan  14). Carried on PSNC Steamer from Callao to Panama and thence on RMSP "Severn" to Plymouth. Reverse with London cds in red (Feb 19) and taxed on arrival in Modena with 1870 Postage Due 5 c. and 40 c. tied by Modena cds (Feb 21). An unusual cover, the Llama 20 c. is a scarce stamp on letter. Struck with "INSUFFICIENTLY / + / PREPAID" in red on despatch as short paid 1 d. for ¼ ounce letter. PSNC Steamer to 'Callao' with cds on reverse (Feb 26) and to Panama; carried from Colon on the "Seine" to Plymouth. London cds (April 3) in red and "GB / 1F 60c." accountancy replaced by "GB / 1F 90c." (the 1 d. was ignored). Charged due '12' décimes for a single letter on arrival.     PSNC & RMSP 1872: Cover from Callao to Lockport, New York, USA franked by Peru 1868 Lecoq 1 d. green, Great Britain 1858/79 2 d. blue pl. 13 and 1865/73 4 d. vermilion pl. 12, corner fault, all tied by "C38" obliterators in black, paying the internal rate and the 6 d. required for the PSNC journey to Panama, with single ring cds of transit (Aug 20) on obverse. American Consular Office added USA Banknote issue 2 c. brown (2) one with repaired NW corner and 3 c. green (2) all tied by "NEW YORK / STEAMSHIP" datestamps in black (Sept 15). Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 221 and on the front cover. Despite the imperfections a magnificent and rare Triple Country combination usage of great charm.rnProvenance: Collection Georges Lamy (purchased from J.     PSNC & RMSP 1876: Cover from Callao to Genova, Italy franked with 1872 1 p. orange, a diagonally bisected example for internal rate (Scott 15a) tied by bold "C38" obliterator, used with Great Britain 1870 bantam ½ d. rose pl. 5, 1864/79 1 d. red pl. 190 and 1874/80 6 d. grey pl. 14, single folded over base of envelope and a horizontal strip of three all similarly tied by "C38" obliterators in black. Reverse with "Callao" cds (Sept 28). Carried by PSNC Steamer to Panama and thence on RMSP "Don" from Colon to Plymouth. 'London / Paid' transit (Oct 30) and Sori arrival cds (Oct 1) on reverse. Part flap missing and negligible fault to the ½ d. but an extremely rare franking - very few bisected usages of the Lecoq issue are known to overseas destinations.
