    PSNC & RMSP 1864: Entire letter from Tacna to Castillon, France endorsed "via Panama", franked by 1862 Lecoq 1 d. pink tied in transit by British P.O. "ARICA" double arc datestamp in black (July 22). Carried on PSNC Steamer to Panama, thence by RMSP "Tyne" to St. Thomas and "Shannon" to Southampton. London cds in red on reverse (Oct 30) and struck with "GB / 2F 87½c." accountancy marking and thence via Calais to destination where charged '24' décimes due. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 216. Some peripheral aging but a very rare usage.rnProvenance: Collection Klaus Eitner, Corinphila sale 158, 11 June 2009, lot 4246.
