1907 (12 Oct.): Mammoth Balloon Flight Daily Graphic Newspaper "A Message from Mid-Air" sponsored postcard from Crystal Palace addressed to Kilkenny Ireland, sent unfranked with framed 'T' and British '2d/I.S.B' handstamped postage due applied in London.rnThe "Mammoth" ascended with three men on board: J.L. Tanner (owner), A.E. Caudron (a balloonist) and C. Turner of the Daily Graphic. The balloon reached Sweden on 14 October. The aeronauts mistook the Swedish Lake Vännern for the open Atlantic and crash-landed near the village of Bracken. Loganair Flight 670A (LC670A) was a scheduled cargo flight for the Royal Mail from Edinburgh-Turnhouse Airport, Scotland to Belfast International Airport.
