    1867: Paris Exhibition Proof for the 2 d. value, an Imperforate horizontal strip of four from plate 9 (State II following the 1866 repair), lettered DI-DL with sheet margin at right, printed on soft white card paper, the first three Proofs with large margins all round, DL touched at base. A fine and extremely rare multiple Gi DP49 = £ 12'000+.rnProvenance: This strip adjoins the corner marginal block of nine (AJ-AL / CJ-CL) in the collection of His Majesty King Charles III. The Royal multiple first appeared in a Puttick & Simpson sale of October 1907.
