    1955 (July 18): Cover carried on ill-fated El Al flight from Paris to Tel Aviv, unacccountably shot down in Tsirbanow, Bulgaria as the Constellation aeroplane was crossing the Romanian border. One bag of mail survived and this envelope was put on board in Bucharest, mailed  from 'Lupena' in Romania to Haifa (adhesives on reverse), with framed explanatory cachet in Hebrew "Accident Mail / El Al / 4X-AKC / Route: Paris - Lydda / July 27, 1955". No reason for the downing of the plane was ever given.
