    Russian Post Office in Bucharest 1849: Cover from Galatz to Bucharest rated "30" in red crayon manuscript, struck with framed Cyrillic 'GALATS' datestamp in black (Tchilinghirian as fig.45 -"RR"). Slight cover crease away from the cancellation, which is an exceptionally clear strike of this very rare and elusive datestamp.

Thence carried on French Paquebot "Egyptus" to Syra and charged 120 lepta on recceipt (March 19). A fresh, fine and rare entire.
