Uyuni transit cds on reverse and obverse of envelope with some water staining from "Cabo de San Antonio" accident (9 July 1933) due to a fire in the hold after leaving Las Palmas, Canary Islands. 387 bags of mail were destroyed, this cover saved and struck with fine "DAMAGED BY SEA-WATER" in black. 1924 (Dec.): Aviation School air post proof collection including 23 die and plate proofs of the vignette and frame with dies in various states of completion as produced by the Perkins, Bacon & Co. of London, starting with two combination proofs of center vignette with both planes that were used in this series, includes a finished combination proof, another with one finished plus individual proofs of each, the frame dies include proofs from the beginning as it was just starting to be developed, includes various without value plus all completed frames for the seven values in the issued colors, also several die proofs with the vignette inserted in various states of the frame, mostly of the 10c value including two with the vignette not used on that value, also a very few plate proofs including a block of nine of the 5B value in green and black, fine-very fine and a wonderful production study of this popular first air mail series. Junkers' First Flight Cochabamba to Sucre 1925 (Aug. 5): 'Correo Aereo / a Sucre / 5-8-1925' ovpt. in green on 50 c. orange on semi official air post stamps (slightly centeredt o the top, two examples used on double rate envelope tied by oval 'Correos de Bolivia / Cochabamba' handstamp in violet. Fine and scarce usage as this Junkers F13 flight from Cochabamba to Sucre is the scarcest of the three flights destinations and believed to be one of only two known double rate usages. Junkers' First Flight Cochabamba to Oruro 1925 (Aug. 11): 'Correo Aereo / a Oruro / 11-8-1925' ovpt. in green on 50 c. orange on semi official air post stamps, two examples used on double rated envelope tied by oval 'Correos de Bolivia / Cochabamba / 10 AGO 1925' handstamp in black with adjacent blue green c.d.s. of that post office at bottom left and Oruro receiving c.d.s. of August 11th at top left. One stamp exceptionally well centered, the other slightly centered to the bottom right, has two "25" from the "1925" caused by one overprint being displaced. Very fine cover with all markings on the front; the Junkers F13 flight to Ouro had a few more covers carried than to Sucre and more have survived, but like the previous cover, double rate covers with two of the air post overprints are extremely rare and this cover is one of only two or three covers known to date. /1926 (Nov. 13): Junkers F-13 First flight Potosi - Cochabamba, two diff. photocards franked on front with 5c. green tied by Potosi handstamp and below straight line "PRIMER CORREO AEREO" cachet and Potosi Departmental chachet in green; very rare cards as only 10 items flown, further 1913 (April 13) photocard depicting the Bleriot Monoplane of the two Italian Aviators Napoleon and Rapini on a field near Vilazon, where they flew ca. 1 kilometer then crashed, breaking the propellor during the landing. 1914/15: Unissued Guaqui - La Paz Railway; the collection on leaves (66 items) with Die Proof of the Frame Only in brown, perforated Essays with the frame in nine different colours - each with the 'Lancha Indigena Titicaca' vignette in black; full Die Proofs in black for the completed designs of the 1 c., 2 c., 5 c., 10 c., 50 c., 1 b., 2 b. and 5 b. values; imperforate Plate Proofs in vertical pairs; perforated set unused, perforated set unused in blocks of four; 2 c. rose in a block of 36, 5 c. black in a block of 39, 2 b. bright blue in a block of 49; together with the Italian lithographic forgeries in a single set and in blocks of four. An outstanding mini-Exhibit collection, the Proofs being, in all probability, unique.
