    1851/52: Half-Length 1 d. bright pinky-red ("white veils", 3rd State of the Dies, Ham 5th printing) and 2 d. brown-lilac in a horizontal pair (4th State of the Dies, Ham 7th printing), used on 1851 cover from Bulla to Great Marlow, Bucks endorsed "By Hero" (which left Geelong on December 9, 1851), tied by Butterfly "V/45" handstamps in black. The adhesives with margins in places, especially at right on the 2 d. pair; reverse showing Port Phillip transit in blue, London cds in red (April 6, 1852) and double arc "Marlow" arrival cds of the same day.     1855/56: Lithographed by Campbell & Fergusson 2 d. lilac, imperforate, an unused horizontal pair in a pale shade, corner marginal from lower left of sheet (QV-RW), of splendid appearance, large part og. Rare so fine - a famous multiple: illustrated in Geoff Kellow's seminal "Stamps of Victoria" on colour plate 5. Cert. As a pair.rnNote: In the late 1890's a block of nine of this stamp was discovered. This pair emanated from same, as did the marginal pair which was lot 187 in the Boker sale.     1855/57: Great Brtain 6 d. deep lilac in a horizontal pair, used on 1862 mourning envelope endorsed "Private" and "via Marseilles" addressed to Sir Henry Barkly, Governor of the Colony of Victoria in Melbourne (in office 1856-1863), neatly tied by London / 78 duplexes (Aug 26) in black. Melbourne arrival cds (Oct 9) on reverse in red.
