    Stamp Duty Issue 1890: Recess printing £ 50 black-violet, wmk. V over Crown sideways, perf. 12½, an unused example overprinted "Specimen" in grey-black twice at both left and right of stamp and further larger upright "Specimen" in red-brown manuscript, fresh and fine appearance, slight thins in large part og. A rare stamp (normal cancelled £ 70'000), Ceremuga states "only a small number of "Specimens" recorded and this is the only example of this combination known to me". Cert. Ceremuga (2016).
