RMSP 1852 (Nov 24): Entire letter from Port of Spain to Greenock endorsed "Packet", franked by September 1852 First Printing lithograph (1 d.) blue on yellowish paper, good to large margins all round, neatly tied by "1" numeral obliterator in black with manuscript "1/-" at left for carriage by RMSP "Great Western" to St. Thomas and "Orinoco" to Southampton. London and Greenock (Dec 21) datestamps on reverse. A superb cover in the foremost quality. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 169. Signed Calves. Cert. Carried on RMSP "Derwent" to St. Thomas and thence per "Atrato" to Southampton, with London transit in red (Sept 15) on obverse. Reverse with double arc TRINIDAD datestamp (Jan 9) and thence per RMSP "Conway" to Barbados and the "Derwent" to St. Thomas with ST. THOMAS (Jan 14) cds in black. Trans-shipped from the "Clyde" in Havana with "STEAMSHIP / 10" arrival on obverse. File fold affects one stamp but a cover of outstanding appearance. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 170. Cert. Carried on the Steamer "Tyne" to St. Lucia and "Arno" to St. Thomas, thence on the "Elbe" to Plymouth. Reverse with "Colonial Postmaster / Trinidad" red wax seal.
