RMSP 1852 (Nov 24): Entire letter from Port of Spain to Greenock endorsed "Packet", franked by September 1852 First Printing lithograph (1 d.) blue on yellowish paper, good to large margins all round, neatly tied by "1" numeral obliterator in black with manuscript "1/-" at left for carriage by RMSP "Great Western" to St. Thomas and "Orinoco" to Southampton. Mail" and "Via Havana", franked by 1854/57 (1 d.) rose-red in a horizontal strip of five, margins touched to large all round, prepaying the local and inter-island rate; lightly tied by "1" numeral obliterators in black. Reverse with double arc TRINIDAD datestamp (Jan 9) and thence per RMSP "Conway" to Barbados and the "Derwent" to St. Thomas with ST. THOMAS (Jan 14) cds in black. Carried on the Steamer "Tyne" to St. Lucia and "Arno" to St. Thomas, thence on the "Elbe" to Plymouth. Reverse with "Colonial Postmaster / Trinidad" red wax seal.
